Archiving Policy
Educate Technik: JOURNAL of ENGINEERING SCIENCES is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of all published content. The journal has established an archiving policy to safeguard the scholarly record and ensure the continued availability of its articles for future generations.
1. Digital Preservation
The journal utilizes digital preservation services to archive published content and protect it from loss, corruption, or technological obsolescence. The following preservation strategies are in place:
-
LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe):
The journal is part of the LOCKSS network, which allows libraries to preserve journal content by regularly collecting and storing published materials. -
Institutional Repositories:
Authors are encouraged to deposit the published version of their article in their institution’s repository or relevant subject-based repositories. -
PKP Preservation Network (PN):
For journals using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, content may also be preserved through the PKP PN, which provides decentralized and distributed archiving.
2. Self-Archiving by Authors
Authors are permitted and encouraged to:
-
Deposit the published version (Version of Record) of their article in institutional or subject repositories.
-
Share the article on personal websites, academic networks (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu), and social media platforms.
-
Ensure that proper citation and acknowledgement of original publication in Educate Technik is included.
3. Permanent Availability
Once published, all articles will remain permanently available and accessible on the journal’s website, unless removed for legal or ethical reasons (e.g., proven plagiarism or serious research misconduct). Any such removal will follow COPE guidelines and be accompanied by a formal retraction notice.
